UglyDolls
| Here they are, the world famous Uglydolls! These cute creatures were created by David Horvath in 2001. David drew Wage at the closing of a love letter to his long-distance girlfriend Sun-Min Kim, who had returned to her native South Korea in the aftermath of September 11. Kim responded with a hand-sewn plush model of the cartoonlike character, which David then carried around with him. The doll caught the eye of one of David's friends who owned a novelty store in Los Angeles, and he said he wanted to sell the doll in his store.
Today the company has grown from a two-person operation, to an international phenomenon. People around the world love the little Uglydolls and their interesting stories.
